Look at that BUTT!!

I made my Sports Hat pattern and couldnt resist making a matching diaper cover for a sweet baby girl. just a basic diaper cover didnt do much justice to my hat. It needed extra flair so I gave it what every baby girl needs.... BUTT RUFFLES!! What makes a baby bottom cuter than ruffles?! It has taken a while for me to post it but here it is!! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxRpco1V5XG3c051MmUzWHFPaE0/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-hWA-UVcaxE94u4vHaQkcrQ

~ La LA La LA La LA La LA ~

ELMO'S HERE!!!

I had an Elmo loving 2 year old's birthday coming up and knew just what to make. With the weather becoming cooler down here in SC I decided an Elmo earflap hat would be the perfect gift :) I started with of course bright fire engine red yarn and my go to basic earflap hat pattern, (repeat crafter me's owl hat pattern), gave him some eyes, and a bright orange nose. I bordered the hat with white and gave the earlflaps orange, red, and white braids.... but it was still missing somthing. I pondered whether I should redo the entire hat or to put a pom pom on the top and I decided to put the pom pom on the top and I am so glad I did. It came out so very cute! The best part of all, Elmo earflap hat has been 2 year old approved!! :)

'GIMME A F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L..... WHAT'S THAT SPELL?! FOOTBALL!! It's here!

Now that cold air and football is in the air I figured a cute hat was needed to keep my noggin warm during the games. I saw a picture of a sports team hat and decided to immitate it with my own twist. This is what came from my idea.

The hat was fairly simple to make and I enjoyed making it as Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are THE BEST team in THE WORLD (just ask me or Mom, or Grandaddy and we will tell you) ;) The button is my favorite part of the whole hat! It is a fabric covered button made by me using a kit I bought from Hobby Lobby and I have found making buttons to be so handy when making hats just to give them extra pizazz! I have a friend who is having a baby and she is a USC Gamecocks fan so I also made the hat in a newborn size and it is precious. I wrote the pattern up for this hat in all the different sizes. Did I mention that this is a free pattern that I am gonna offer on here? :D Here it is!

Looking Good in my Loafers

Baby Weston needed some new shoes and his Momma asked if I could make him some cute little loafers and sent me a picture of what she was talking about. Of course I was up for the challenge. I searched Ravelry and Pinterest for loafer patterns for toddlers and found nothing! I thought I was going to have to buy a pattern and when I thought all hope was lost..... I found http://www.loopyjess.co.uk/p/simple-bootie-pattern.html. I adapted the strap to make them look like loafers and they were so cute!! SHHHHHH....... don't tell but I didnt want to give them up they were so adorable! Since My husband and I live in South Carolina and Weston and his Mommy live in Georgia we had to wait until we went for a visit home to GA to see if they fit. Arent they cute with his little chunky legs?!

Meeska Mooska Minnie Mouse!!!

This cute little outfit actually came before the Bumble Bee Outfit and was just an outfit I made for fun. I am so glad I did too! The pattern I used was Repeat Crafter Me's Minnie Crochet Hat and Minnie Inspired Crochet Diaper Cover. I used a different diaper cover pattern for the actual diaper cover itself because the one mentioned in the Minnie pattern was a little difficult to understand. The one I used was http://cbraden7.blogspot.com/2011/08/diaper-cover-pattern.html. It came out exceptionally cute but the diaper cover had one flaw..... it was too small for the doll I used for a model, which is average newborn size. To fix this next time I just used an I hook instead of an H :) The hat was perfect and I even added a frilly lace like edging to make it even more girly. Since its debut on Lulu's it has been a great seller!

Buzzz....... One Last Time

I decided I needed one more gift for the baby shower and that it needed to be something that could grow up with Baby Abby. So I decided the quickest thing I could whip up in less than a day would be a lovey and since the nursery was a bumble bee theme and I decided a bumble bee lovey would be perfect! This is what I came up with.

I wrote up the pattern and here it is :)

Here is the whole Buzzing Bumble Bee Set :)

New Phone = New Case

Because I finally moved up in the world and got an iPhone I knew I had to take special precaution to not break it so I figured..... CROCHET CASE!!! I found the perfect pattern that was versatile to any object you want to make a case for: laptop, phone, netbook, eReader, ect. Here is the link... http://rosesnlilies.wordpress.com/2011/01/19/easy-crochet-laptop-sleeve-free-pattern/

At first the pattern was very confusing and hard to get a hang of but once I reread it a couple times it wasnt too hard to understand. Once I got the beginning of the pattern it was a piece of cake and fairly fast to finish. I finished the entire case in one night. I found a bird pattern on Ravelry for free and used it to embellish the front of the case along with making a lace edge :) I absolutely love how this came out and use it everyday. It keeps my phone free from scratches and bumps and looks cute while doing it!

*** UPDATE *** 9/22/12

The newest pattern that is buzzing through Lulu's is the Bumble Bee Hat pattern I was asked to make for a friend's mom who is having a baby girl. I decided to make a  matching skirted diaper cover :) I am so so excited to show it off and have it out! However I can't show it off too much due to the fact that the mom hasn't seen it and it is a gift so it is just available on here and Ravelry. It has already become a hit on Ravelry and I can not wait to see it on Baby Abby :)

*** UPDATE ***10/2/12

HAS BEEN MOMMY APPROVED!!!! :D They had the baby shower over the weekend and Mom loved the outfit! She said she will be taking it to the hospital with them.

Sound the Alarms!!

First LuLu's Crafts order is complete!! I am so excited to share!! This hat however was no simple task. I wanted to make it without paying for a pattern so of course I went to trusty ole ravelry.com and looked for patterns. They had one so I tried it first and it didnt work so the next thing I tried was looking at a picture and making my own. That endeavor was a complete FAIL!!! After about a week of trying and tons of failed attempts I broke down and bought a pattern. I found it online on http://www.peapodaccessories.com/ . I can however say it came out so cute and perfect!! I love it! Well here it is.......... LuLu's Crafts Newborn Fireman Hat :D

P.S. When making a blog post you must hit publish to post ;) This one has been sitting here a while.....oopsy!!

MIA but for Good Reason

I know I have been MIA for a couple of days but I have been working on a huge project...... making my own pattern!! :) I am super excited and hope to share it with you tonight if not tomorrow for sure. I have also been making a few other things just to pass the time and to have some fun. On another note, I have found my day is filled with looking on Ravelry at patterns and I have decided that I am going to make one of everything I think is cute just to increase my crochet abilities and hopefully make some sales. Well back to pattern making :)

Beary Cute!

Introducing Beary Cute Bear!! I am in love with this pattern! I had never bought a pattern before and this one was just too cute to pass up :) I thought it would be harder than it was. The designer had the best details and instructions. I got the Silly Ole' Bear pattern from Fiber Doodles by K4TT. So far it is my favorite pattern to make. My bears couldn't have come out any better!

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. -1Corinthians 13:4-7

The Beginning of Something New

A few days ago I decided to start a craft blog :) I'm highly excited about it! I craft quite a bit and would like to sell a few things because they are over taking my living room lol However before selling I feel I need to have a few things established like well of course a name for my "craftiness"(since its not a legit business..... i.e no business license, no store, ect.). So I chose LuLu's. That's the name my grandfather calls me and has called me since I was little bitty so it seemed like a good name. Another thing was putting my new blog name on my Ravelry and Facebook and things of that nature. However the most important thing was to make sure that God was first and foremost in my "craftiness". He will ALWAYS come first and foremost no matter what so all my crafts are going to be made to honor Him and His glory! I am hoping to get posts up in the next few nights with all the crafts I have made and get pictures up with them. So be on the look out!!  For now though it is bed time for LuLu :) Good Night!

P.S. I am also going to end each post with a bible verse that I feel on my heart and tonight I will post my two favorites :)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6
